Comenius University Bratislava (UK) is Slovakia's largest and oldest university, comprising 13 faculties. Founded in 1919, it has provided high-quality education and remains one of Slovakia’s most active institutions in scientific and educational innovation. This is reflected in numerous national and international projects, including participation in the Rotterdam Law Network, The Basis of Austrian Law, the British Law Centre Diploma, the European Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Democratisation (E.MA), and various Jean Monnet programs. The Faculty of Law has a strong research tradition, particularly in emerging areas of law. It is a leader in studying the legal aspects of automated vehicles, including liability, data protection, and regulatory challenges. The faculty also contributes to shaping AI legislation, exploring issues like algorithmic accountability and the impact of AI on fundamental rights, alongside research on cybersecurity law, addressing digital sovereignty and cybercrime prevention. These research activities are supported by collaborations with international institutions and participation in global research networks. Thanks to its long-standing research and educational efforts, the UK is one of Slovakia’s most respected universities, maintaining active partnerships with leading universities worldwide.
